Recently, during one of my art classes, my teacher introduced me to this interesting website called designboom. Designboom Is a website that has various arts and designs posted on it promoting the works of other artists. I personally found this to be very interesting and I left few articles that I found to be a fun read.
Jason Decaires Taylor submerges six monumental ‘masks’ to form cannes underwater museum!
Jason deCaires Taylor is a British sculptor known for his underwater sculptures. Recently he has made sculptures that are giant 6 feet sculptures underwater. These sculptures are sculptures of faces and took around 4 years to make. All of these sculptures are split masks, which is supposedly a metaphor for the ocean.
NIKE unveils the NIKE GO FlyEase, an easy-on, easy off no-lace sneaker
This article talks about and you design of Nike shoes, called NIKE GO FlyEase, which are sneakers that can be taken on an off without using your hands. this article was especially interesting for me because I personally do not like shoelaces because there are always inconvenient. However, Nike is able to accomplish this dream by using Engineering and innovation while maintaining a modern and sleek design. These shoes will be available to the public later this year for $120.
Boston dynamic’s robot dog spot just got an extra arm
If you haven’t seen this already on YouTube, Boston Dynamic’s robot dog, Spot, just got an arm! spot which is a remote controlled “robot dog” is renowned for its ability to stay balanced and being able to do tasks by itself. Now, with its new arm, Spot he’s capable of planting trees, opening doors, and even drawing things with chalk on the sidewalk. I believe that this innovation is fascinating simply because of how such an amazing and advanced robot has just received an arm enabling it to do so many other things!
