Ingredients
- 2 cups of canned pumpkin
- 1½ cups of evaporated milk
- ½ cup of granulated sugar
- ½ teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon of ground cloves
- 2 eggs
- 1 pie shell (4 cup volume)
Optional:
- Whatever you like on top of a pumpkin pie (like whipped cream, cinnamon sugars, and toasted pecans)
Step-by-Step
- Preheat oven to 425oF
- Whisk together the ingredients
- Pour the mixture in to pie shell (don’t worry if it feels completely like liquid)
- Bake at 425oF for 15 minutes and then change the temperature to 350oF for 35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out of the center clean (it’s supposed to be a little jiggly at this point)
- Let the pie cool for 2 hours
- Add on your favorite toppings
