Memorization plays a big role in many of our classes. Many tests will test your memorization classes, for example, science will test your memorization for definitions, and social studies will test your memorization on subjects such as dates and time. There are many tricks that can help yourself study for these types of tests.
Ways to practice:

Flashcards – Using flashcards, you write a word or topic you will be tested on and write the answer on the other side. This will test your memorization while also being portable and reusable. When using flashcards, if you don’t get the answer correct, keep trying until you get it so that you can really remember it. If you really want to test yourself, you can restart and shuffle your cards every single time you get one wrong, so that you make yourself not want to get the wrong answer.

Have a friend help you out– Having a friend help you out is always helpful. You can have your friend say test subjects and you reply and continuously do this

Use Quizlet – Quizlet is a website that allows you to practice memorization. To use Quizlet, you type in all the words you want to quiz yourself on and you also write the answers. Quizlet will automatically have fun games that will help you practice memorization and get you prepared for that upcoming test.

Write practice questions – This is a tip you can use anywhere. Write down some of the questions that will be present on your test and simply write them down and try to answer them. Whenever you have a break, take that chance and try writing down some more questions!

Make the practice perfect – If you think that the way you practice memorization is too hard, take a break and reanalyze a better or easier way of practicing. You should also do the same if you find your practice to be too simple. Take a step back and try to make it more complex so that you are actually memorizing.
