Origami stars are easily made and a great way to pass time. It can be done in five easy steps. Make a jar of them and gift them to a friend for good luck or make a purchase of glow in the dark paper to make a little night light for yourself. Either way, you’ll find these midget 3-D origami stars a delight to make. All you need is a strip of paper 0.5’’ by 10’’, though it’s fine if your paper is a bit wider or shorter.

- Make a knot at one end of the paper and flatten so it forms a pentagon in shape. When you complete this step, make sure that the knot is not to tight or it will fold in on itself when you flatten it.

2. Take the short length of paper from the knot and fold it over. This should naturally a aligned with one edge of the pentagon shape.

3. Next, take the long strip of paper come if from the knot and start wrapping it along the edges of the pentagon. Each time you wrap it, it should align with a edge of the pentagon, then continue wrapping it along the next edge from the other side.
4. When you have a little strip of paper left (too small to be wrapped around the pentagon again) tuck it into the slot made by previous wrappings around the pentagon.
5. Use your fingers to pinch in each side of the pentagon. Your can also use a pencil for this step. The pentagon should puff up and the places you press in on form the angles between each point of your star.
