Problems with America’s fast food industry

by Teddy Bau
Imagine going to a fast food restaurant every day simply because you like the food. Months and months have passed. Years and years have passed. You realize you have gained an insane amount of weight over the years despite all the exercise you’ve been doing during this timeline. Have you ever wondered why this has been occuring? Today, you will find out why.   One  problem with America’s fast food industry are mainly the overdose in unhealthy ingredients. The following unhealthy ingredients are usually always over the limit: salt, sugar, saturated fats, trans fats, calories, and processed preservatives and ingredients. What makes it so hard to notice these unhealthy ingredients is that they are simply hidden inside the food itself, and that they make the food taste so well. Without these ingredients the taste of the food will of course drop. Unless you are at a restaurant that costs hundreds and hundreds and millions and millions of dollars. Another problem about America’s fast food industry is the amount of processed food used in these fast food restaurants. You really think that the fast food industry makes all their food from scratch? Of course not, or else how will they get all their food done in a matter of minutes. Fun fact: processed foods lack so many nutrients. Which  leads to that problem that I just mentioned about the overdose of unhealthy ingredients. The fact that these fast food restaurants prioritize taste over health, and money over your body should be telling you that you shouldn’t be going there to eat. Now, I was trying to tell you why you shouldn’t want fast food as your main meal. But, I’m not trying to tell you why you shouldn’t eat it at all. But if you eat it like once every five to six months, you’ll be fine. But yeah. It is healthier to cook food at your house rather than eat food at a restaurant.  https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/324847#mental-healthhttps://media.market.us/processed-food-statistics/https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC6146358/#:~:text=These%20fast%20foods%20typically%20contain,other%20potentially%20disease%20promoting%20chemicals.
