Tips on Studying for Finals!

by Hannah Wang
  1. Organize

Make sure that you are organized in order to study what you learned in your class in order. Some things that can help you are having binder dividers or creating a folder online that are each named differently based on what you have learned. Another way that can help you is writing down the names of all of the different formulas or topics that you’ve learned on a sheet of paper. You can also color code or visualize if you are a visual learner. These methods will help you memorize easier.

     2. Create your own study guide

Study guides are really helpful when it comes to preparing for tests. You can create your own study guide with almost any platform or website. The website I recommend the most is Quizlet. You can also create games for studying on websites like Kahoot, Gimkit, and Blooket. This makes studying more fun, and you can also use the games to study with your friends too!

     3. Study with others

Even though some people may think studying by themselves is more efficient and peaceful, studying with your friends can make things more fun and help you learn some information that you haven’t learnt before. Also, asking for help from a teacher can also help if you have a hard time understanding a topic. You can find a tutor if asking a teacher doesn’t help. Make sure that you get rid of any distractions that might distract you from studying.

     4. Resting Well, Taking Breaks, and Time Management

Studying constantly for a long period of time has a bad effect on your efficiency. It will make you more tired and more distracted. The best way to study efficiently is to take breaks and switch topics every 30 minutes to an hour. If you stick on studying one topic for too long, it will bore you and you will not memorize the information correctly. Also right before the day of the test, make sure you get a good rest and go to sleep earlier than usual, because it will help you refresh your mind and memory so that you can be more focused.

All these study tips and more will help you study and memorize well to get through your finals! Gook luck on your exams!
