Top 10 Youtubers To Watch When Bored

by Daniel Lee

Have you ever been bored out of your mind, because you’ve had nothing to do? Have you ever aimlessly scrolled through the internet looking for something, someone to quench your boredom? Have you ever rewatched the same old videos over and over again on Youtube, because Youtubers don’t upload frequently. If you ever have, or just want someone new to watch, you’ve come to the right place.

  1. MrBeast

According to Forbes, MrBeast, or Jimmy Donaldson, with over 100 million subscribers, was the highest paid Youtuber of 2021, raking in around $54 million last year. However, it is clearly evident that he puts a lot of this money back into his videos, bringing audiences the highest quality productions possible. His video ideas redefine and innovate the Youtube structure, as he gives away huge amounts of money that in turn allow for him to run a successful business and produce movie-like footage. Even going as far as to recreate Squid Game, Jimmy Donaldson has no limits when it comes to the extravagance of his content. Although he often hosts extremely intense competitions, where hundreds of thousands of dollars are on the line, the channel also offers comedic relief in the form of Jimmy’s friends: Chandler, Karl, and Chris. They frequently appear in his videos, allowing him to address serious issues and host competitions while also simultaneously catering to younger audiences by cracking jokes and skits. Therefore, there is a lot of variety featured on this channel, as some videos give away homes and cars, while others help people in need. Unfortunately, the only downside this channel has is that MrBeast preferes quality over quantity. After a while, your experience will be back  to square one, waiting for a new upload.

2. KSI (JJ Olatunji)

KSI, or JJ Olatuni is a British-Nigerian Youtuber, having over 38 million subscribers combined, is additionally a professional boxer, rapper, and businessman. Therefore, he’s been able to start up quite a few successful businesses, including his most recent: Prime Hydration. He also has a very successful career in music, as his new releases top the charts every time. Finally, he is also undefeated as a professional boxer, beating fellow Youtuber Logan Paul in their highly anticipated fight that took place back in November 2019. He is a part of the Youtube group, The Sidemen, which have over 15 million subscribers. When it comes to curing boredom, watching KSI is the right cure. With arguably one of the most addictive laughs on the platform, JJ has been able to reuse old content ideas yet still offer originality and creativity in his videos. However, due to using the same content over and over again, he is able to upload more frequently despite his busy schedule. He also offers giveaways in his Try Not To Laugh series, with prizes ranging from $100 to even $1000.

3. iShowSpeed

A recent breakout, iShowSpeed or Darren Watkins, started to gain fame in late 2021 for his eccentric and often crazy personality/antics. Despite still being 17, Darren tends to stream at least a few times a week, offering fresh new content that will no doubt at the very least make you crack a smile. His crazy, and slightly controversial character may be too wild at first, but over time he will no doubt have you crack open laughing. He often plays a random assortment of games that he spices up with his personality and sometimes even streams his daily life. As he is also a fellow high school student, his humor/jokes often mix with teenagers/younger age demographics, making iShowSpeed a channel to most definitely watch when you are bored.

  1. The Sidemen

The Sidemen, as mentioned earlier in the article, are a UK based Youtube group that started back in 2013. Having 7 members, each member being a huge star in their own regard, The Sidemen are one of the most popular channels in the world. The septet have started several businesses with their name including XIX Vodka, Sides, and many more. The members are KSI, a Youtuber that was mentioned earlier, W2S or Harry, Ethan Payne, Simon, Josh, Tobi, and Vikkstar123. The group has a program titled “Sidemen Sundays” in which they post as a group every Sunday. Additionally, The Sidemen run a few other channels that often spew out even more amazing/satisfying content, including MoreSidemen, SidemenReacts, and Sidemen Shorts. Thus, they follow a strict schedule that ensures the audience of more content each and every week. With not only one, but seven charismatic, funny members that each bring something unique to the group, The Sidemen rack millions of views per post they make, as the members almost make you feel as if you are a part of their friend group. They often feature collaborations with other creators once in a while, to provide something new to their content, in order to take it to the next level.

  1. PewDiePie

Currently the most subscribed to private Youtuber in the world, PewDiePie is undoubtedly someone to watch when you are bored. With fresh new content multiple times a week, PewDiePie is most definitely someone who is dedicated to their craft, spending hours every single day recording videos for his fans/audience. Back in 2019, after having a highly publicized subscriber count battle with T-Series, PewDiePie unfortunately lost his spot as the overall Youtuber with the highest subscriber count, but is still as mentioned earlier, the number one independent Youtuber with the most subscribers. After recently moving to Japan, PewDiePie has offered new content such as vlogs, gaming videos, etc. Additionally, PewDiePie (real name Felix), is a Youtube veteran, so there are quite a large number of videos in the past that you can watch after watching the videos he has recently uploaded.

6. Ryan Higa

Ryan Higa, or known on Youtube as ‘nigahiga’, is a Youtuber famed for his creative skits and other video ideas. With a witty personality, and an even funnier group of friends, the Youtube channel nigahiga is the perfect antidote for boredom. Ryan is able to create comedic yet intense storylines that help get the point across in an often sarcastic manner. He speaks on critical issues of society in a more light-hearted way while still remaining serious when it comes to the issue itself. Again, a downside this channel does have is the fact that Ryan has yet to upload even after 2 years. There is an archive of old videos that will still have that same charm/wittiness that his more recent videos have, but still the choice of videos are somewhat limited.

  1. JiDion

JiDion or Jidion Adams, is an American Youtuber that has recently come to prominence for his funny prank videos. He is additionally good friends with a previous Youtuber on this list, KSI. Although he is newer to this scene, he still is able to make high quality, funny videos that can 100% cure your boredom. I personally find his prank videos to be the most enjoyable, in which he is able to act extremely natural and clueless which make his videos even more funnier. The combination of amazing content with a charismatic personality is what makes JIDion so loved in the Youtube community.

8. CoryXKenshin

CoryXKenshin, is quite different from the other Youtubers listed in this article. Sure, he’s also a comedic person in general, and produces amazing content. However, his focus of content is scary games. Therefore, a little scare will help anyone’s boredom. He mainly plays horror games, while commentating alongside the gameplay, offering comedic relief and scary freakout moments. You definitely get a different sort of thrill when you watch CoryXKenshin, the feeling of dread and horror mixed with the feeling of being entertained and satisfied. He includes little remarks throughout his videos which not only showcase his thoughts or emotions but additionally allow viewers to laugh.

  1. Penguinz0 or Moist Cr1TiKaL

Penguinz0, or Charlie is a Youtuber known for his chill yet sarcastic demeanor present throughout not only his videos but his streams as well. Although not the Youtuber with the craziest or loudest personality, Charlie offers commentary that is quieter and more relaxed yet also just as hilarious. To further explain makes videos on topics/people/videos going viral on the internet, and offers snide yet blunt remarks throughout the videos that often criticize/sarcastically analyze statements made through the video. He consistently releases entertaining videos that rightfully receive millions of views per upload.

  1. Dude Perfect

Originally starting off as a trick-shot channel, the 5 member group consisting of Ty, Garrett, Cody, Coby, and Cory, have developed into a channel releasing a variety of different things. For instance, they’ve recently started uploading documentary-like content that showcases parts of the world that we may never get to personally experience. They also showcase new stereotype videos and skits that also offer entertainment. However, they also still upload regular trickshot content once in a while, never forgetting their roots. It is amazing to see how far the 5 member group has managed to come, as they’ve originally started as college roommates, and have turned into global superstars.

Austen Brantley

Self-Taught Sculptor

Austen Brantley is a self-taught sculptor from Detroit, Michigan. He discovered his affinity for sculpting during his junior year at Berkley High School. There, Brantley was inspired and encouraged by his ceramics teacher, who saw Austen’s talent for molding beauty from the clay. After only two years, Brantley began receiving local and statewide recognition. Seeking to hone his craft, Austen has proudly worked as a full-time professional artist since 2014. His work has been presented across the country in numerous solo and group exhibitions including two upcoming 2024 shows: Wounds, solo show at M Contemporary, Detroit, MI (August/September); and TBD two-person exhibition at Indy Art Center, Indianapolis, IN (September/December). As Brantley continues to live and work in Detroit, he has dedicated his career to creating a legacy for future generations. An essential step toward this goal has been his public commissions, including his most recent bronze unveiling: a memorial commemorating the Tuskegee Airmen of World War II for the Office of the City of Detroit. At the same time, Austen completed a larger-than-life design for the new Freedom Monument Sculpture Park at the Legacy Museum in Montgomery, Alabama. He is the recipient of multiple awards, including the prestigious Kresge Arts Fellowship in Detroit last year. Austen aims to provide young people with the opportunity to see themselves reflected in art while also subverting the stereotype of toxic Blackness. A powerful representation of the resilience and strength, each artwork and exhibition hopes to reflect shared experience and challenges his onlookers to seek peace, honor, and excellence.
